You can find a list almost anywhere of what type of gift you should give your spouse for a specific anniversary. But let's face it, most of those suggested gifts are pretty lame, especially for the first 10 years. Women love jewelry. So try this fun suggestion: Take the suggested gift material for that year, and think of ways to turn it into an anniversary jewelry gift idea. You get to have some fun, and your spouse gets to see your inventive side.
The suggested gift for the one year anniversary is paper. Paper Are you kidding me? Well, if you only give your wife paper for your first anniversary, you won't need to worry about year two. So you have to get her a real gift instead. But just to show your sentimental side, fold some paper into an origami swan and making a ring or string necklace. It will be cute (but don't forget the "real" gift too).
The second and third years are cotton and leather. From a jewelry standpoint, these two are pretty easy. Get a woven cotton cord with some decorative beads or a charm on it for year two. Do the same thing again for the following year, but use leather as the necklace material this time, and maybe a pendant instead of a charm or beads.
